Inprise Responds To DecisionCube/TeeChart Incompatibility

By Paul Pritchard

In an email to Paul Pritchard at the Delphi Planet, Ben Riga, Delphi Product Manager at Inprise, responded to our inquiries about the incompatibility between DecisionCube and the latest release of the TeeChart component from TeeMach. (Read the original report).

Ben wrote, "We are aware of the problem some of our customers are having when upgrading to the Pro versions of TeeChart (or QuickReports). We have been in contact with both of these third parties and are evaluating several possible solutions to this problem. The cause of the problem is that TeeMach made changes to the interfaces of their packages when they released their Pro edition. Since the Decision Cube is dependant on the TeeChart package, replacing it with one that changes the interface breaks DecisionCube. We have no way of controlling what these 3rd parties do with their add-on packages but we do feel a certain responsibility to help our customers with this problem. We are working to help TeeMach solve this problem.

Please stay tuned to the TeeMach web site for a solution to this problem."
